Jalapeno Chile Flakes - Jalapenos are the most recognized of all chile peppers. They originated from Jalapa, Mexico. When dried and smoked they are known as chipotle chile peppers. Jalapenos have a medium heat range of 2500 to 10000 Scoville heat units, depending on where it is grown. When mature, the green jalapenos are 2 to 4 inches in length. If they are allowed to ripen on the plant they will turn red.
Use this to season Latin, Texan or Southwest dishes, with that distinctive spicy green bell pepper flavor.
