Cincinnati Chili Seasoning - Cincinnati Chili is known as one of the quintessential American meals. The origins of this recipe, date back to 1922 in Cincinnati and has evolved to consist of one or all of the following components:
- ground beef chili (seasoned with cinnamon, clove, allspice and chocolate)
- spaghetti
- diced onions
- shredded cheddar cheese
- red kidney beans.

Spice Ingredients: Pacific sea salt, New Mexican chile peppers, crushed red chiles, onion, garlic, cumin, clove, allspice, cinnamon and bay leaves.

Cincinnati Chili Seasoning Cooking Instructions
Cincinnati Chili is known as one of the quintessential American meals. Grind this spice blend into your ground beef and follow the cooking directions to complete you batch of Cincinnati chili! It’s really good and Oh so Americana!
Ingredients:
1 pound of ground beef
1 tablespoon of cooking oil
3 tablespoons of Cincinnati Chili Seasoning (ground or left in flake form)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 tablespoon Cider Vinegar
1 ½ tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz.)
¾ cup of water or beer (the better the beer the more flavor, but don’t use a seasonal beer that will throw off the flavors)
½ pound spaghetti.
Procedure:
1) Heat a medium size sauce pan to meat high. Add the cooking oil to the pan and add the ground beef. Lightly brown the beef. - Figure 1.

2) Add the Cincinnati Chili Seasoning into the pan with the ground beef and stir to coat the meat. Sauté for 15 seconds.
3) Immediately add the Worcestershire Sauce, Cider Vinegar and Cocoa Powder. Stir and immediately add the crushed tomato and the water or beer.
4) Simmer for 1 hour, covered. Add some water to maintain some liquid in the pot, as desired. Some people like their chili a little thick and some like it a little soupier. - Figure 2.

5) Cooked spaghetti in salted water until “al dente”.
6) Place one quarter of spaghetti into a bowl and ladle a ½ cup of the Cincinnati Chili over the spaghetti. Garnish with shredded cheddar cheese and diced onions, if you prefer. - Figure 3.
